In addition to its single-player campaign mode, Revelations also offers an action-focused experience called Raid Mode. Luckily though, there are still plenty of moments of explosive action, as Jill is outfitted with weapons like shotguns, SMGs, and of course, her faithful pistol. Most of the time, you'll run around the Queen Zenobia searching for keys and other quest items, attempting to solve puzzles and make it past obstructions. Instead of giving you tons of ammo and healing items to brave lengthy firefights, Revelations is more about evading your enemies than it is defeating them. While other modern games in the Resident Evil series highlight action over scares, Revelations attempts to offer an experience more similar to the early games.

While the narrative itself might not be the best, there are plenty of things that give you the motivation to keep moving, notably the creepy enemies and intense situations. However, the broad strokes are still easy enough to follow and the scares don't require much explanation to be effective. Like with other Resident Evil games, the story can often be a bit confusing, with over-the-top characters and complex twists involving betrayal, politics, and more. With only her BSAA partner Parker Luciani to rely on, the trip to the abandoned ship might be more trouble than it's worth. Searching for her lost partner, Chris Redfield, Jill begins to expect that nothing is as it seems on the ship, and begins to uncover a wider conspiracy.

Set after the events of Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil: Revelations focuses on the Bioterrorism Security Assessment Alliance agent Jill Valentine, as she explores an abandoned cruise ship called the Queen Zenobia. While the story can be convoluted at times, any fan of the franchise will enjoy this smaller spin-off and the horrors that wait below the sea. Despite the change of scenery, this creepy horror game offers a lot of the same mechanics that made the franchise popular, including limited resources, terrifying monsters, and tricky puzzles. Resident Evil: Revelations is a spin-off of the classic survival horror series and sees our heroes attempting to rescue some allies who have gone missing at sea.
